Earth Day has been an ongoing movement that inspires, challenges, and motivates people to action. 1970 was the first year Earth Day became established and gave voice to an emerging consciousness to channel human energy towards environmental issues.
We at Patch of Land not only celebrate Earth Day, but value it to be part of our everyday company culture. We make the effort to recycle all non-working technology parts such as monitors, batteries, printers, etc. and use paper from Treefrog and Step Forward Paper that uses recyclable elements as part of its main component such as sugarcane and wheat. We support companies like these because they offer the solution to the ongoing problem of deforestation. These small steps we believe we're taking as a company shows our respect and responsibility to our home.
One of our favorite and inspiring posts we would love to revisit in honor of Earth Day discusses The Garbage Warrior where he uses biotecture, a profession of designing buildings and environments with consideration for their sustainability using a combination of biology and architecture.
How are you celebrating Earth Day this year?
